Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Countopus is a learning app for children up to Grade 5, published by QuizRift. We built it to be safe by design. This policy explains, in plain language, how Countopus handles information. The short version: the app is free, we collect no personal information from you or your child, we show no ads, and we do not track anyone. There is nothing to buy and no account to create.
Information we collect
None that identifies your child. Countopus does not ask for a name, email, photo, location, or any account. A nickname and avatar are optional, are never required, and never leave the device.
Where learning progress is stored
Your child’s progress (which lessons are done, stars, and mastery) is stored locally on the device only. It is not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app removes it.
No advertising
Countopus contains no third-party advertising and no ad networks. Your child will never see ads in the app.
No tracking or analytics
We do not use advertising identifiers (such as IDFA or Android Advertising ID), and we do not use third-party tracking or behavioral analytics SDKs. We do not build profiles of children.
To fix bugs and improve lessons, the app keeps anonymous diagnostics on the device only: simple counts (for example, how many lessons were started versus finished) and a short log of any errors, with no names, no identifiers, and nothing about who is using the app. This information never leaves the device and is not sent to us or to anyone else. A grown-up can erase it any time from the “App health” section of the Grown-ups area.
Nothing to buy
Countopus is free in full. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no paid content, so the app never asks for payment details and never sends you to a store to buy anything. We have no payment relationship with you at all.
Children’s privacy (COPPA, GDPR-K)
Countopus is designed to comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU/UK GDPR provisions for children, and the children’s policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play. Because we collect no personal information and do not track, there is no personal data to share, sell, or use for advertising. We never sell data — there is none to sell.
Parental rights & choices
Since data stays on the device and contains no personal information, there is nothing for us to access or delete on your behalf. You can clear all local progress by deleting the app. If you have any question or concern, contact us any time (below).
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the “last updated” date, and — if the change is material — note it in the app.
